A Travellerspoint blog

14 Jul 08 Mon. day 43 and 44 (Truro & Annapolis Royal)

Travel to Truro, Nova Scotia. Trip thru Moncton was exciting. Most everyone (18 rigs) got lost or totally turned around. But we all made it. One fun thing was we got to tour the Anne Murray Museum. It brought back many good memories with her music. Apparently she is still doing concerts, but now she's even doing them with her daughter who is also making cd's. Stopped in the visitor center , and refueled.

15 Jul 08 Tues. day 44 Departed Turo 8:30am Stopped at Provincial Animal Shelter. They bring annimals of all kinds here that are injured, nurse them back to health. Birds (all kinds) Bears, wolves, moose, deer, etc. It all very well done and the animals have wonderful accomodations. Then we drove on to Grand Pre and the museum of the Acadien People. Originaol settlers of N.S. Forced out by British and French as well.
Some went down south and are the Cajins in New Orleans.
Then we went on to Annapolis Royal. Oldest City in Canada and did the candlelight tour of the Garrison Graveyard at Fort Anne National Historic Site.
